Barefoot Running Shoes

Barefoot Running Shoes - Which Brand to Buy?

I recently got into the barefoot running craze and would like to share my experience. My husband watched a report on TV about the benefits of barefoot running shoes then proved his point by showing me how our barefoot 6 year old ran with the front of her foot touching the floor before her heal. I, in turn, walked with my clunky-heeled tennishoes across the floor and realized that the heel was hitting the ground first. He informed me that this causes knee problems and denies our bodies its natural posture. No wonder I can’t do long walks/runs in those shoes! My knees always hurt after being in them all day. So I immediately went out and bought the first pair I could get my hands on, the Nike Free Runs. I bought them for $70 at the Nike Outlet. They were really lightweight and could bend all the way around. However, they still had a bit of a heel, and the grooves in the soles kept getting gravel stuck in them. After a week, I researched the different brands and found good reviews on Merrell Train Pure Glove shoes. I decided these would work best for me because they had no heel, they look like casual shoes, so they can be used either for running or running errands. I have had them for a month now and LOVE them. I bought them for $90 and I wouldn’t hesitate to pay that much again. I haven’t went back to the Nikes, and am bummed I didn’t research the shoes first. But hopefully my review will help YOU as you look into joining this new craze that’s really what it claims to be – Enjoy your new barefoot world!
